The Montana Lakes Conference gathered diverse resource professionals to exchange information, scientific advancements, and management strategies to promote clean and healthy lake and reservoir ecosystems. Participants from academia, nonprofit, government, business and the public discussed improving Montana’s lake health through science and monitoring advances, watershed restoration, policy innovation, and collaborative stakeholder involvement.

Participants celebrated Montana’s lakes, exchanged knowledge, ideas and experiences, and introduced new approaches to help manage and protect our lakes. Attendees were immersed in innovative, practical, and applied lake management techniques and current research.

In addition to the formal program, networking opportunities allowed attendees with varied experiences to compare notes and collaborate on important lake management issues.

The conference was held March 13-15, 2019 at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake along the shores of Whitefish Lake in northwestern Montana.
